Avidyne’s Entegra Integrated Flight Deck Selected By Piper for the PA46s, PA32s, and PA28s Aircraft

Entegra for the Matrix includes a 10.4-inch diagonal Avidyne PFD with standard flight instrumentation and pilot-selectable moving-map flight plan data, horizontal situation indicator (EHSI), a Bearing pointer, digital RMI readouts and integrated flight director command bars.

Piper Matrix

The PFD is integrated with a solid-state air data and attitude/heading reference system (ADAHRS) providing full redundancy as well as much higher reliability than traditional “spinning-mass” gyros. The PFD may be coupled with the autopilot for altitude pre-select, vertical speed select and heading select. Entegra also delivers complete WAAS LPV approach capability with integrated lateral and vertical guidance and annunciations.

Piper Seneca V

The Entegra system for the Seneca V consists of two 10.4-inch diagonal, high-resolution, sunlight-readable displays, including an EXP5000 primary flight display (PFD) with integrated solid-state air data and attitude/heading reference system (ADAHRS) and primary engine instruments. The EX5000 multi-function display (MFD) in the Seneca V provides a full-featured moving map and comes standard with first multi-engine implementation of EMax. The EX5000 is also the first large-format MFD for general aviation that can display data from the RDR 2000 digital airborne weather radar system and from optional XM WX and Avidyne’s MultiLink datalink weather services. Additional options include Avidyne’s FlightCenter™ services for flight tracking and two-way text messaging capabilities, Flight Director, autopilot mode annunciations and integrated altitude pre-selector on the EXP5000, and CMax™ electronic charts.

EMax displays manifold pressure, RPM, fuel flow, and oil temperature and oil pressure on the PFD for each of the SenecaV’s 220 horsepower turbocharged engines. EMax also shows all six cylinder head temperatures (CHT) for each engine, turbine inlet temperatures (TIT), outside air temperature (OAT), and electrical bus voltages. EMax fuel management functions include fuel remaining, nautical miles per gallon, fuel-to-waypoint and fuel-to-destination. Power management tools include an automatic leaning function and a percent horsepower display for accurate power settings. EMax also provides data logging capability of critical engine performance parameters, which are downloadable onto a compatible USB Flash Memory device via the MFD data port in a standard spreadsheet format for easy analysis.

CMax provides instant display of Jeppesen’s JeppView® electronic charts on the EX5000. With CMax, the aircraft’s position is automatically shown on the airport diagram for positional awareness while taxiing. In flight, CMax shows aircraft position and flight plan on the selected approach plate to give the pilot excellent situational awareness. CMax simplifies and speeds access to needed charts, including instrument departure and terminal arrival procedures, while maintaining an organized cockpit environment during high workload phases of flight.

Avidyne’s exclusive MultiLink technology integrates XM WX high speed broadcast satellite download of weather conditions and Avidyne’s two-way datalink capability. XM WX includes full-color NEXRAD, graphical and textual METARs, AIRMETs, SIGMETs, TAFs, Winds Aloft, Freezing Levels, Storm Track Vectors, Hail Warnings, TFRs, and lightning strike data displayed on the EX5000 multi-function display (MFD). MultiLink also provides access to Avidyne’s FlightCenter™ suite of datalink services including flight tracking and two-way air-to-ground messaging.

Piper Seminole

The selection makes Piper the first aircraft manufacturer to standardize on an integrated flight deck system for models ranging from entry-level piston trainers to top-of-the-line, pressurized, turbine-powered aircraft. Because the Seminole is the most popular twin-engine aircraft used for advanced training, it also means that a new generation of aspiring professional pilots will earn their aviation credentials flying Piper aircraft equipped with Avidyne Entegra.

Piper Meridian

The Entegra system for the Meridian consists of three 10.4-inch diagonal, high-resolution, sunlight-readable displays, including pilot and co-pilot EXP5000 primary flight displays (PFDs) and an EX5000 multi-function display (MFD). The Entegra system for the Meridian includes dual integrated solid-state air data and attitude/heading reference systems (ADAHRS), bringing a new level of capability and redundancy to the flight deck. The Meridian is the first turbine-powered aircraft in production with the Entegra system and extends Avidyne’s presence in the Piper fleet and in the high-end of the general aviation market.

The Entegra EXP5000 PFDs also display primary engine instruments and integrated flight director command bars. Avidyne’s unique Cross-Compare System™ (CCS) built into Entegra, constantly monitors both ADAHRS and provides visual alerts in the unlikely event of any discrepancy. The CCS™ also monitors the aircraft navigation systems and provides alerts in the event of any inconsistency. It's like having a "virtual copilot" on every flight. Each EXP5000 is integrated with its own independent ADAHRS, although either ADAHRS may be selected for display in reversionary operations. The EXP5000s also present standard flight instrumentation and pilot-selectable moving-map flight plan data and horizontal situation indicator (EHSI), as well as an RMI pointer and digital RMI readouts in the primary field of view.

The radar-capable EX5000 MFD installed in the center of the panel in the Meridian provides a full-featured moving map showing GPS flight plan, topographic terrain, obstacles, major roads and rivers, special use airspace, as well as lightning, traffic and Terrain Awareness and Warning System (TAWS). The MFD also comes standard with the first implementation of the EMax™ Engine Instrumentation system for a turbine engine. Options include Avidyne’s exclusive MultiLink™ datalink XM WX graphical weather and FlightCenter services providing flight tracking and two-way air-to-ground text messaging, and CMax™ Jeppesen JeppView® electronic chart display. The EX5000 is the first large-format MFD for general aviation that displays datalink graphical weather and airborne weather radar, both of which can be overlaid on the moving map.

Piper Saratoga

The Entegra system for the Saratoga and 6X family of aircraft consists of two beautiful 10.4-inch diagonal, high-resolution, sunlight-readable displays including an EXP5000 primary flight display (PFD) with integrated solid-state air data and attitude/heading reference system (ADAHRS), and an EX5000 multi-function display (MFD) with EMax™ Engine Instrumentation and optional Datalink Weather capability.

Entegra’s EXP5000 PFD presents standard flight instrumentation including attitude direction indicator (EADI), horizontal situation indicator (EHSI), altitude, primary engine instruments, airspeed, and vertical speed. Entegra’s EX5000 MFD delivers unique situational awareness on an integrated display including moving map, lightning, terrain, traffic, complete engine information and optional datalink weather.

Entegra’s innovative EMax provides primary engine instrument capability including the display of manifold pressure, RPM, fuel flow, and oil pressure on the PFD. In addition, EMax provides fuel totalizer capability, an automatic leaning function, and a “percent horsepower” display, which takes the guesswork out of fuel and power management. EMax also shows fuel remaining, and computes nautical miles per gallon, fuel-to-waypoint, and fuel-to-destination on the MFD. In addition, all six cylinder head (CHT) and exhaust gas temperatures (EGT), oil temperature, outside air temperature (OAT), and electrical bus voltages are also monitored and displayed. EMax also provides data logging capability of critical engine performance parameters, which are downloadable via the MFD data port in a standard spreadsheet format for easy analysis.

Piper Warrior III

The Entegra system for the PA-28 aircraft consists of two 10.4-inch diagonal, high-resolution, sunlight-readable displays, including an EXP5000 primary flight display (PFD) with integrated solid-state air data and attitude/heading reference system (ADAHRS), flight director capability, and primary engine instruments. The EX5000 multi-function display (MFD) provides a full-featured moving map with electronic engine instruments and optional EMax™ Engine Instrumentation and datalink graphical weather capabilities.

Entegra’s EXP5000 PFD presents standard flight information, including attitude direction indicator (EADI), horizontal situation indicator (EHSI), altitude, primary engine instruments, airspeed, and vertical speed data. In addition to EMax Engine Instrumentation, which includes display of all 4 EGTs and its unique data-logging capability, Entegra’s EX5000 MFD delivers enhanced situational awareness info, including moving map, lightning, terrain, traffic, complete engine information and optional datalink weather, on an integrated display.

On autopilot-equipped models, Entegra provides fully integrated autopilot control and mode annunciations, which allows simple and intuitive altitude capture, vertical speed selection and heading control.
