Mike leads the product management for Entegra Release 9 and our datalink products while directing the cockpit development of KAI’s KC-100 aircraft. Previously as Sr. Director of Engineering, Mike lead the Flight Management Technology system/software engineering (FMS, CNS, keyboard and NavData Cooker), radio engineering (VHF radio and GPS), hardware engineering and mechanical engineering.
He joined Avidyne in the Lincoln office in 2000 as a system engineer contributing to the successes of the EX5000 MFD, EX500, Datalink and E-Max products where his guidance significantly contributed to certifications of these products on Cirrus, Piper and Columbia aircraft. In 2004, Mike moved to Melbourne, Florida to launch and lead the FMS development and systems engineering for Entegra 2. His efforts in Melbourne were also to lead the Eclipse AVIO design and development. Several patents have been filed, with two received, on his work for EMax and the FMS.
Before joining Avidyne, Mike was a system and project engineer on multiple GPS and INS projects for C.S. Draper Labs (Cambridge, MA) and Seatex Inc. (Seattle, WA). A graduate from WPI in electrical engineering (BS) and URI in ocean engineering (MS), he spent 7 years working in geophysical exploration projects across the globe, including involvement in the GPS EGNOS testing for the EU Department of Transportation.
